since I've decided to switch from MacBook to a gaming desktop I'd like to ask you about how the following system would perform on Dolphin:




Intel Core i7 3770K (Unlocked => up to 4.4 Ghz)

16 GB DDR3 1600MHz

Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 3GB

Windows 7 Professional x64




Should I get an Ivy Bridge or a Haswell CPU?

I haven't bought the computer yet, so if there is hardware with a reasonable price that would perform (much) better, please tell me




I want to play Wii & GC games with the following settings at 50-60 FPS:

1920x1080

4x IR

Dolphin is a dual core application , i7 doesn't make any difference (not noticeable anyway) . You can also buy an i7 4770k if the extra cost doesn't matter to you . i7 will help you when you encode a video
Recommend : i5 4670k + MSI Z87 G45 Gaming mobo
In Zelda WW benchmark , Haswell is much faster than Ivy
