A few months ago, I was running dolphin on my i7 12 GB ram PC smoothly. no issues, other than a frame drop here and there. Now I cannot play a game even close to full speed, Im getting 18-21 FPS on Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness, or Paper Mario TTYD (Both of which I had full speed on a few months ago). I haven't installed anything on my computer that I think would slow it down, nor change a setting on dolphin. It was my first time booting up Dolphin in months yesterday, and I just dont understand why I wouldnt be able to run full speed for most, if not all, games.
Didn't change a thing, now half the speed

This is caused by (in order of likeliness):
1. GPU driver issues. If you're on Windows 10, Windows likes to update your drivers to different (sometimes broken) versions without telling you. If you're not, reinstall the latest drivers anyways. 2. Power throttling. Plug in your laptop, check that windows isn't scaling down the clock speed. Sometimes it'll scale so quickly that clock speed monitors won't show you. Set Windows to high performance mode if you need to. 3. Thermal throttling. Make sure your ULV CPU isn't overheating. ULV CPUs have a very low thermal threshold before they throttle clockspeed. 4. malware 5. They weren't full speed and you're remembering wrong. 12-25-2017, 01:19 PM
