I bought SC2 because i am a die hard Starcraft fan and i have been playing SC:BW for ages, i wanted something new, and i got a great campaign with better graphics. I understand if you do not like it but i do, and so does alot of other people

and its not.
Popularity is usually because something is good.. how can you justify that millions of millions of people play a game for years if it's not a good game? Diablo 3 will crush every videogame sales record, just wait and see.
As for WoW, i enjoy that game, it's graphics engine is starting to become old though but it still gives value for it's money(if you like that sort of thing) I am currently in a guild raiding endgame cataclysm content, and it is much better than WOTLK imho. Fact of the matter is WoW is the best MMORPG out there, at this point. I don't care what anyone says, let the numbers speak for themselves;
12 million subscribers as of October 2010,[11] World of Warcraft is currently the world's most-subscribed MMORPG,[9][12][13] and holds the Guinness World Record for the most popular MMORPG by subscribers.[14][15][16][17] In April 2008, World of Warcraft was estimated to hold 62 percent of the MMORPG subscription market.[18]
OT: I'm looking forward to it. I loved the first two of the series, and I feel that with Blizzards experience with WoW they know what the majority of people want from an RPG.
