Me and my buddy used to play mario kart wii on netplay with no problems at all, no desync ever. We got bored of only using the starter cars and courses so we both downloaded a completed save file so we could play with everything unlocked. When we play an error comes up saying something like "desync from (my friends name)". How can I fix this? Thanks in advance

You already made a thread about this.

I'll lock the other one because this one has better information. If you use the latest dev builds, you should have the option of loading a Wii save for the game you're playing. If both you have the same save imported and that option is used, ti should load the save. The only way I get Wii netplay to work 100% consistent is to use a fresh Dolphin, follow the same steps on each Dolphin, and use the appropriate settings.

Wii Netplay is among the hardest features to use, so, don't expect it to work well. We try to warn users that it's very fickle and the smallest of errors can cause issues.

Any advice on buffering? When I host it says I get 0ms and my friends is between 15-25ms

Buffer should be ~5 to 6 for that latency. Maybe less if you really want to push it.

Thanks but it still isn't working, I got a fresh dolphin and deleted the custom save file and unlocked a few things then tried loading it on netplay but we still get the same problem

Instead of sharing save files, have you tried using the Ultimate License Unlocker code instead? That unlocks everything and I had no issues with using it on netplay.

I tried it and thought it would work but unfortunately it doesn't

Then you've set something up wrong if this is happening. Seriously, Dolphin's netplay is an incredibly hard feature to use, but when it's setup exactly, it will work. I don't recommend any casual users even attempt Wii Netplay though.
