Desktop class laptop, need to know if can render in 4K

Hey guys,

So, I will be soon settling on a laptop, I'm just left deciding whether to go with a 980m SLI setup or a GTX 980 desktop class gpu.

I know emulators don't really like SLI but I could always just use 1 GPU for it.

Here is the laptop :







Basically, am I going to have any problems running games in 4K and smooth?
The cpu is desktop class so that's something.

I've been killing myself trying to decide between the 2 options I have. Each has its own goods, with the 980M's basically just giving me better performance on some games that support SLI and giving me value to gain after I sell them for an upgrade in the future.

The 980 notebook edition on the other hand, supports VR and is generally less problematic than the SLI setup.

That's what I'm getting from most people, I guess SLI really just doesn't justify the huge gap in price too.

Is the desktop 980 enough to render in 4k and all? (I'm expecting it to be beast and just run all the games xD)

It's said that gtx 960 is the minimum gpu requirement for 4k (no AA)
I also found out that my gtx 860ｍ which is on par with gtx 750ti can handle quad HD well . For PC games , it's another story . i doubt dual gtx 980ｍ(or the equivalent dual gtx 960) can run latest game well , current gpu can't maintain 60fps in 4k

I only want to know if the gtx 980 desktop will be able to do 4k 60fps in Dolphin

yes it will be able to do that as long as the cpu is fast enough and the game itself must have 60fps limit (there are many 30fps games and 50fps games , tls and xenoblade are good examples)
i asked for gtx 960 benchmark before . It can handle up to 6xIR which is equivalent to 4k though barely
gtx 980 is much stronger than gtx 960

I can render 4K (6X Native Resolution) perfectly fine on my Desktop, and I have a GTX 970 paired with an i5-6600K. My laptop could easily do 1080P with no AA on Dolphin as well, and that had an i7-4700MQ and a GTX 765m

The processor is the 6700K, it has a really good single thread score so it should be fine (about 2300 if im not mistaken~~)
