Lately I have seen that with the DolphinBar, the IR Cursor in both Mouse mode and Emulation mode is slow or sometimes not working at all (it worked fine when I got it). I used a camera that has IR mode and found that on the left side of the bar, IR LED 2,3 and 4 are all blinking together in a pattern that seems totally random. the angled LEDs on the outside (1 and 5) always stay on. This is much more severe in Mouse mode but it does cause some problems in emulator mode. It blinks the same in all modes and does not stop when changing modes. If I bring the remote about 2 feet from the bar it works fine. Also, this happens on any computer I plug it into.

I think this means it's defective, but I would like a second opinion before getting a new one.

There have been several reports of Dolphinbars with LEDs going out lately... Bad batch maybe? You may have to send it back or do some repairs...

Just for anyone else having this problem, it is a problem with the first Dolphinbar model, it overheats and burns out if its left on too long. They released a firmware that helps with this so if your bar has only one switch on the back make sure you are up to date. The new model doesn't seem to break like this, the new model has 2 switches, the unlabeled one is a on/off switch. So if yours has two switches you should be fine. But still, make sure its completely off when you aren't using it.

The latest firmware does not fix this on the first model. It only turn the LEDs off if there are no Wiimotes connected, they're still overpowered when in use, so, long play sessions are enough to burn them...
