So I grabbed r6081 the other day, and lo and behold, Def Jam: FFNY is actually working really well!
Story mode works good so far, done about 5-6 fights. Battle mode works fine. Loading into a fight takes just a little longer than it does on the 'cube.
I'm getting an average of about 45fps right now, 60 is optimal for this game, but even at 45 it's fine. I'm on x86 tho, so x64 users may find better performance.
Only real issue is the audio. Voice audio for cut scenes and during fights is non existent. I think some music is missing as well, but general sound effects are working, such as the sound made when hitting someone in the face with a pool cue!
BTW, this game looks freaking SICK in HD. Hard to believe it's a Gamecube game and not a 360 title. IMO it looks better than that nightmare Def Jam game that came out on the 360 a few years ago (I don't remember the name of it, I just remember that it was in the top ten worst games I have ever played).
Anybody have any ideas on the audio, or is it just a wait and see what happens sort of thing?
