Hey All, ive been reading alot on these forums as of late, and would like to know the cheapest possible way to build a desktop dedicated to Skyward Sword, i'd like no Monitor as i plan to play the game at 1080p on my sony LCD via HDMI from PC - currently played about 2hrs on Wii and it looks so much better on Dolphin Sad

Anyway, i need some recommendations, and if possible specs of others who can play at full speed 1080p without too much hassle. Im trying to keep costs for build as low as possible.

Im thinking:

- Core-i5 2500k CPU
- Cheapest Socked 1155 Motherboard? Maybe one with built-in bluetooth?
- Cheap Case don't know what type of PSU i will need
- Undecided on what GPU to get

My goal is to be able to play Skyward Sword without major issues and also other wii games in HD 1080P format would be great Smile

Any help much appreciated!

Note: my reason for the core i5-2500k was because they are suppose to be good for overclocking purposes?

Which motherboard works best for the 2500k cpu, preferably cheap but works Smile

How much are you willing to spend? Seems kind of unwise to build a rig just to play Skyward Sword without at least having it last you a year or two for other games/applications. But if you have the money, that's your business.

Good time to buy with Cyber Monday and all. Use slickdeals.net, they post great deals all around the internet. They let you know if Newegg or Amazon has anything worthwhile.

i5 2500k is great. I have it and my motherboard allows me to overclock extremely easily. It's at like 4.4 or 4.5. (my mobo is an ASRock extreme4 Gen3) amazing features for the price. And it's future proof for PCIe 3.0 when it comes out. Only ~150.00

If you want bluetooth built in, I think it will drive the prices up on the motherboard, so I suggest buying it as an add-on because you can get them for like 15 bucks, instead having to look at motherboards over 100 dollars. Whereas you can get mobo with 1155 socket without BT around 50-100 price range.

Lots of great cases for cheap. I suggest the Antec 100 or 300. Around 50 bucks, lower if you can find a deal. Check out local stores because they might have some cheaper.

PSU is important, don't skimp on PSU. Go with reliable brands. Seagate, Corsair, I have an Antec. Do some research, read reviews on Newegg. I suggest buying there. Go for 4 or 5 stars. For your build, 500w should be very sufficient. Don't be afraid to pay the extra 20 bucks on the PSU, quality goes a long way from a bad one frying your parts. (ALSO, try to get modular)

I have a GPU I want to sell. I currently have a GTX 570. I want to sell my ASUS GTX 560. (Had it for a month before getting the 570, built my PC in September) I can send you pictures, but it's a great GPU. I got the 570 because it was a deal off Newegg. The 560 is lying on the ground in it's original box right now. I have all the original packaging, and it's capable of doing Crysis, and Crysis 2 with 40-50 fps, 1360x768 resolution, highest settings. Private message me for details. Otherwise a GTX 460 should be fine, or Radeon 6850.

You're going to need a CPU cooler for the i5 overclocking. I suggest the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus. 25 bucks, considered one of the best around for the price. It's a beast.

Also, try to check out Fry's or Microcenter for the CPU. It will be/should be cheaper there. I got my i5 2500k at Fry's for 20 bucks cheaper than online.
