Ok, so I had much better performance on dolphin a few days ago with my v30 debloated. Then I caught a virus and needed to do a factory reset, when I restored my phone I noticed with the same programs debloated I had pooorer performance than usual. I also noticed gpu renderer skia was performing better than the default. I'm not sure exactly which bloatware specifically was detrimental to the dolphin emulator, any insight would be greatly appreciated
Debloating LG v30 to perform better for dolphin.

Bloatware would only hurt performance if it's actively running in the background. And when you did a factory reset you would've deleted your shaders, maybe the performance was lower as they had to be generated again.

Thanks for the reply, but there is bloatware that will negatively impact performance for devices. Example, ldb bloat process in the v30 is one that negatively impacts CPU performance. There are a few others as well that doesn't necessarily have to be in the background. I also have an app that will actively freeze background tasks while I am playing the emulator. I have received much better fluidity and sound in the game. Some titles I was able to run 100% with no lag, now I need to have it down to 30-50% depending on title to run well. I just debloated the few processes on the top of my head that I remembered, the exact list I had debloated before the factory reset I can't remember. I was just hoping someone knew exactly which processes to debloat that do negatively impact the performance of the emulator. I also noticed usually the gpu renderer skia would perform much worse than the default renderer, but now the skia is doing much better. Could an update have broke a graphics driver that LG could have recently dished out, idk. 08-04-2018, 01:47 AM
I mean if you're really desperate to delete bloatware. Just root your device and either
1. Get Titanium Backup and delete the bloatware in the app, 2. Get a debloated custom ROM. 08-04-2018, 07:51 AM

I noticed that when I re-enabled Google play services and google play store, I had a slight speed bump under usage access. Part of me thinks LG is just throttling the phone, maybe theres a process outside of root that manages the devices temperature. In other devices there was a thermal system app, I am not finding it here under lg v30 maybe it's another name. 08-05-2018, 04:53 AM

Curious what kind it was so others can be aware of specific dangers,so long as its safe to at least mention it. DON'T mention particular sites or link them, just please say what the virus was doing and when it started happening and what you did between those times excluding the more sensitive/private details. I am concerned that it may be easier to run into viruses at random nowadays. Thought stuff like the Google Play store was more particularly slamming down on insidious apps since fairly recently. Do you think it was a rogue app from Google Play,or some nasty ads themselves from any app cutting through security somehow? In my early more adventurous days of trying out just about any of the free Android apps on a Gen1 Fire TV box (rooted for clean Google Play access,ONLY to access legitimately free apps),I dealt with tricky apps that installed Android Push ads that displayed its unique ads basically anywhere which also replaced website ads with their own.
