No need to use any outdated version, use Mario Galaxy projection hack and the game just works fine
 Though you'll need to disable the projection hack to see the in-game movies, and if you save and then try to load the game it'll loop on the loading movie without actually loading the file

Have you tried to save the state instead of saving in game?

The game works really perfect. The only problem i have is that after saving the guy who sells the weapons and leaving his store the screen turns black and the game does not respond anymore.
I tried it two times now and no success. I'm using the following options: Direct3D Plugin Safte texture chache: ON Enable CPU ->EFP access: ON Enable 16x anisotropy filtering: ON Enable hires textures laoding: ON EFP Scaled copy: ON Disable Fog: ON Enable EFP Copy to Texture By the way, what does EFP stand for?
