I wonder Why is there a Direct3D backend, and devs still support it ? It only supports Windblows and it is proprietary , is there any real advantages of Direct3D over OpenGL (other than performance)? I don't want to start a war, I just wonder why keep supporting Direct3D...
D3D9: Why It's Not a Part of Dolphin's Future

Well that's great to hear. I care more for a stable and faster Dolphin anyway. And if you still have a Dx9 video card look on Amazon for a new one. I got my NV GTX 650 Ti for just $130 so that isn't a lot of money for a card that can run recent PC titles like Far Cry 3 perfectly.
And if you're still using XP: Get out of your dream bubble and start using Win7. I remember being an extreme XP fanboy a 3/4 year ago when I suddenly got myself 7. Then, *bam*, Win7 fanboy. When I was using XP on my friends PC or somewhere else it just didn't feel right anymore, everything was so primitive. On the other hand D3D11 decreased my FPS in Twilight Princess from 30 to 22 in heavy areas instead of D3D9 which decreases only to 28. So I hope the devs will greatly improve the D3D11 setting in the future. Till then I'll use the D3D9 setting on Dolphin 4.0. EDIT: I just tried the OpenGL plugin and it works just as good as the D3D9 one. With that said, I can't wait for Dolphin 4.5/5.0! 10-21-2013, 02:44 AM

As for those on XP, they really should update to Windows 7.

This is the first thing I've posted to the dolphin subreddit and got no upvotes for. However, it's also the only thing I didn't immediately announce the posting of on here, so that could be related. Anyway, if any of you are reddittors, I'm letting you know /r/DolphinEmulator exists. For a period of time, Delroth was a moderator, but he quit for some reason, and then denied he was ever a moderator or even knew the subreddit existed.

Why exactly are we supposed to care about a dolphin subreddit when we have these forums?

You added me as a moderator without ever asking me about it, I clicked "yes" because I thought "heh, could be a good idea, let's look what happens and maybe give it a try as something more official". A few days later, you posted the first actual thing on that subreddit, which was "Happy Birthday delroth". That's when I stopped looking at that thing and removed my name from it to make sure nobody makes the mistake to think it's anything official. If you want to continue spamming our forums with your unofficial community and use my name to advertise it, I'll take my banhammer and use it. No regrets. 10-22-2013, 07:35 AM
I had a post here basically saying that I wanted it to be for news about Dolphin, and Delroth's birthday was the closest thing to news I had had since the creation of the subreddit, and that as I had my doubts about it blowing up with not a single post, posted it. My main issue was Delroth becoming a moderator, quitting without telling anyone (for what seems to me like a petty reason, as we made a big thing of his birthday here), and then posting Dolphin-related things to many subreddits with tenuous links to emulation, but excluding the one trying to be most relevant, and only giving a vague explanation in the same post as threatening to ban me. This was all confusing.
Anyway, if no-one cares, I'll stop promoting it here. It's actually helped one person with one thing, so has exceeded my expectations. I was only using Delroth's name as an advertisement when I thought he was still a moderator.

No matter his reasons he is not obliged to care about it or want to support it directly or indirectly. I have seen posts of yours in many threads about this subject in particular and if i was in delroth's shoes i would also find it annoying. 10-23-2013, 01:17 AM
The thing is, he hadn't told me he wanted nothing to do with it. It just looked like he was ignoring it until he explained it to me just 3 posts ago in this very thread.
