Hello!
Is there ANY way to manually install d3d9 on Dolphin 5.0?
I used to use 3.0 and it worked really well but I'm having trouble with 5.0 because OpenGL makes some games really slow (Forest of Fairies drops the speed to about 45% on OpenGL.. 95-100% when using 3.0 d3d9)
I Tried using Direct 11 and 12 but they make the emulation even slower.
Is there any way to manually install D3D9 on 5.0?

Thanks!

lol ,no . Direct3d9 is unsupported . If you want to use Dx9 with Dolphin 5.0 , grab unofficial Ishiiruka version here :

if the specs you posted in your profile is what you're using with Dolphin then you're lying ! Intel HD Graphics ( i3-3210 Ivy Bridge) does not support DX12 !
Dolphin will crash right away if you select DX12 in graphic menu
Only Intel HD 4600 (i3/i5/i7 4xxx Haswell ) or latest model Intel HD 530 (i3/i5/i7 6xxx Skylake ) support dx12 . Dx12 is the fastest backend right now (60% faster DX11)

Oh, you're right.. It gives me warning messages.. I kinda forgot about that
But that doesn't really change anything...
Thanks for the custom link though! I really apreciate it Smile

I take back my words . Just tried DX12 on Intel HD 4600 , zero improvement over DX11/DX9 . On Nvidia GPU , huge improvement
Intel GPU is crap after all
Anyway , why not just buy a graphic card ? Used HD 7750 is $30 on ebay right now , it can run most if not all games at 1080p . Or if you want a new card , GTX 750 ti ($100) is also a good choice , GTX 750 ti is faster than HD 7750

It's tied to feature level, AFAIK. That's why some GPUs have zero improvement even through they provide DX12 (e.g. DX12 support with same feature level from DX11). And I feel that's how it will be with Fermi GPUs if NVIDIA some day ships DX12 drivers for them (that or officially stating Fermi won't get DX12 support at all)...

Yea um, no. D3D9 was removed to make way for lots of speed gains and accuracy improvements!

According to your profile, you are using a Core i3 3210 with HD Graphics 2500. That integrated graphics is below Dolphin's system requirements for 5.0 (HD4000 and up). You should definitely consider a new GPU. Even a 750Ti would be a huuuuge improvement for your performance in and out of Dolphin!

To Dolphin Forum members: (Show Spoiler)
Remember to recommend Ishiiruka only when it fixes something specific! (speed is not included) Like, this user is below Dolphin's system requirements - that is a valid reason since it handles older systems, but make sure to check that before recommending Ishiiruka!

Ok I would love to buy a new Graphics card.. but I live in Brazil and stuff here is very expensive.. not to mention I have way too many things in my priority list right now.. and a card isn't quite one of them
Either way, I really apreciate everyone's help Smile
I found out that if I open the graphic settings menu and close it the emulation gets faster (lol idk)
Thanks a lot for the support!
I would like to close this thread if possible.. (I'm sorry I dunno how to...)

If you open the graphics menu while you're playing a game, it overrides the game-specific settings that Dolphin loads when loading a game. It might seem faster, but it will also break stuff, so don't do it.

Oh, intel naming is terrible. The HD2500 is the small ivy bridge one, so similiar (but slower) as the HD4000. HD2500 > HD3000....

But yes, this are the official requirements. The HD2500 is likely too weak to handle the most games at full speed, even at 1x IR. We usually tell everyone here that the GPU doesn't matter, but this one manages to be slower than our CPU emulation...
