Hi guys,

Whenever I try to run Dolphin using Direct3D 9, I get an error message: Direct 3D failed to initialise. Direct3D 11 works fine, so does OpenGL.

I've searched threads for a solution, and I can't seem to find any mention of anyone having the same problem... since D3D9 seems to be the fastest, I'd like to get it to work... but no idea why it doesn't!

I've updated DirectX and my drivers (HD 5770). I've tried it on two different versions (7719M and 6856M).

((Also, does anyone have an idea why Xenoblade seems to run better on 6856 than 7719; I'm sure I've used the same settings for both?))

Any help would be much appreciated! Really would!

Thanks!

Can you post the error message? We're not psychic you know.

Sorry...

But the error message is just that "Direct 3D failed to initialise". That's it.

Okay, a new revelation I'm sure you've all just been on tenterhooks waiting for:

DirectX9 works with the 32bit version of Dolphin.
What could this MEAN!?

Something's wrong about your system configuration. I mean, really. There's no way this is Dolphin's fault..

Try updating GPU drivers or make sure you actually have installed a 64 bit runtime for direct3d.

Ackackack

Yeah I have the latest drivers and I downloaded a 64bit redist of DirectX and ran that, along with the webinstaller saying I'm all find and up-to-date.

Life suxxx I.D.E.T.

Thanks for all the help though!
