No matter what game I play, gamecube or wii, the opening cutscene is incredibly slow and drops a bunch of frames. Sometimes the cutscenes start out okay, but after a few seconds start lagging hard. However, when I get to gameplay it runs perfectly fine. I have no idea what to do. I am using the latest dev build as of the time of making this post.

Sounds like one or more of 3 things.

1. Power management issues. Making sure your laptop is plugged in and windows power profile is set to high performance mode.

2. Dolphin is using your intel GPU and not your nvidia GPU. Set a profile in nvidia control panel for dolphin.exe and set it to use the nvidia GPU.

3. You changed a setting in Dolphin to something bad. Delete the config folder in Documents/Dolphin Emulator/config and restart dolphin. This will reset all of dolphin's settings without deleting your saves. After that, see if it's still slow. If it's not, the only settings you really need to change to make Dolphin better are Internal Resolution and Ubershaders (possibly backend as well, depending if you have issues with ubershaders).

It is none of those things. I made sure my laptop is plugged in, made sure that dolphin is using nvidia, AND deleted the config folder, and its still not working. Like I said, this problem ONLY occurs during cutscenes.

Does the nvidia control panel also have power management options? Are they set to highest performance?

Maybe it's a weird vsync issue?
