Custom tracks on MKWii using WiiScrubber

Okay, i did it now. It gives me the .szs file, so thank you! But now theres another problem, my Dolphin freezes whenever i select the track that i replaced it with (beginner course aka Luigi Circuit and i also tried with treehouse course aka Maple Treeway). I don't know which track it resembles, but i watched a tutorial and it said that it should be fine as long as the tracks are similar.

What I can tell you is that there are some slots that require special files to be present in the .szs archive. Slots that will crash are slot 4.2 (Moonview Highway) and 6.2 (GBA Shy Guy Beach). The slots you tried are supposed to work. Perhaps there still is something wrong with your converter, as I can not think of something else then a issue somewhere in your .szs file.
I think what you should try first is to download a course .szs file from wiki.tockdom.com and place that. Take for example 3DS Rainbow Road (one of my personal favourites). http://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/3DS_Rainbow_Road The file is already renamed, just copy it, patch iso and try Special Cup - Rainbow Road. Tell if this does not work either. Be sure to use correct names. (beginner_course.szs and treehouse_course.szs). If you want to know, I replaced Luigi Circuit with SNES Mario Circuit 1 successfully. Of course other tracks should work too. For if you want to play the custom tracks in multiplayer, you should also copy your downloaded .szs as beginner_course_d.szs and treehouse_course_d.szs . Let me point out one more thing: if your are looking for a set of custom tracks or retro tracks from other MarioKart games to play in Dolphin, you shouldn't replace files etc. yourself. Wiimm has created a lot of distributions that come with an iso patcher. Take a look here: http://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Wiimms_Mario_Kart_Fun These distributions are hacked just so you have 40 cups; so you will have around 160 tracks per distribution. Readme with how to create a MKW Fun iso is included in the package, you will need your LEGALLY OBTAINED (of course) MKW iso to create a MKW Fun iso. This is way less time consuming. Of course, if you want to make your own, go ahead. If it's just about playing the tracks, use Wiimm's. 410172 05-11-2014, 12:33 AM
Yes, 3DSRR works. I used a CTGP from a guy on Youtube, he made one himself. Ill try to install Wiims Fun pack then, i'll let you know if it works or not.

Good luck. And I forget to mention there is a Riivolution program for Dolphin on its way; so hopefully in the near future you and I to do all this custom track stuff way easier. Don't know if you ever saw someone playing custom tracks using Riivolution, but it is way easier and hopefully also less space consuming.

Thanks!
Yes, i did so myself with CTGP just before you could play it online. 05-11-2014, 12:51 AM
Let us know if you succeeded creating your MKW Fun iso's with the patcher ok? It's always good to hear that we have successfully helped someone.
So i downloaded the latest Wiimms MKW Fun (2014-04) but it doesn't include a readme file. The screenshot shows all the contents of the package. I have extracted the patch.rar file already, but i have no clue what to do now because of there not being a readme :\
EDIT: I forgot adding the Mario Kart in there, so im not done yet. I found a German tutorial, so i'll try it again ^^ Alright, so watching the German tutorial was really helpful. I have now created the iso, and i am using it right now. Although some of the tracks are missing and just say Mario Circuit, i can live with that. Thank you very much!
O yeah I also encountered that problem, 20 of 40 cups are filled with Wii Mario Circuit. Boring. I'm gonna ask Wiimm why that happens and what can be done. I'll send you a pm if I find out how to fix it.
All packages from Wiimm from that site can be transferred to an iso file the same way, for if you are getting boring with the current one. For others who are reading this I will write a short tutorial myself then. - Dowload the package from here: http://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Wiimms_Mario_Kart_Fun - Extract all contents. - Copy your MarioKart Wii iso to the directory with your extracted files. - Open create-image.bat - Windows cmd will open and ask you for some setup information. It will ask for language (German or English) and file format. Choose iso if you want to play this with Dolphin. (Other file formats might work too but I have not tested them). Choose riiv if you want to play this on your Homebrewed Wii with the Riivolution channel or with Dolphin as soon as Dolphiilution - Riivolution for Dolphin comes out. Last thing it will ask for whether you want an apart savegame for this game, unrelated to your original MarioKart Wii savegame. Simple yes or no will do. Be sure to press enter after filling in your answers. - That's it for the setup. The program will now create the iso that will be located in the directory ... (directory where the extracted files are located)/new-image . There you have it! Have fun playing Wiimm's Mario Kart Fun! Have fun! 410172 |
