Hi everyone! Long time user, first time poster.
So I've been emulating for a long time, but this past cyber monday I finally took the plunge and bought a moderately beastly computer. I've never really had the hardware to upscale or use custom textures before, so while I'm quite familiar with Dolphin, those aspects are new to me.
My problem is that I've installed these custom texture packs for Viewtiful Joe but they don't seem to be loading correctly:
https://github.com/rapka/dolphin-texture...r/PACKS.md
https://onthegreatsea.tumblr.com/post/13...nload-link
It's two separate packs, so I created the directory
Dolphin/User/Load/Textures/GVJE08 (ntsc version, double checked the game properties already)
I merged all the textures into a folder called 000 as per directions on the Github link above, leaving me with all the textures inside
Dolphin/User/Load/Textures/GVJE08/000/(assorted textures and folders)
In Dolphin, navigated to Graphics/Advanced and made sure "Load Custom Textures" is checked.
So I load the game, and the textures don't show. Eventually I get a notification saying "custom textures loaded, 25(ish) sections" but the textures still don't show.
The strange thing is that through trial and error I can manually get the textures to actually show by pressing Alt+Enter to exit fullscreen, then navigating to Graphics/Advanced and clicking "Prefetch Custom Textures" on and then off. I don't know why that would work, I assume that setting takes effect before game start, but if I do that, with the game still open, when I navigate back to the game window, the textures have loaded (and look amazing).
Tried different renderers to no effect, though the directions in one of the packs says don't use open GL.
Not using any AR Codes, no widescreen, nothing extra just upscaling x4.
Thinking I was just being impatient, I also left the game run for a full 5 minutes to see if the textures would load themselves, but they didn't.
Did I make a mistake in my setup, or am I missing something crucial here, or could this be a bug?
Thanks for any advice!
