Ok this should print a lot of information of where textures are and where they will be:

You will need to enable the PS console of course. It may be easiest to copy all text into a (.txt) rather than screenshots. Everything should be good to go, you can import your settings if you remember to disable segmented upscales (uncheck Upscale Images in Segments) as I was too lazy to add the same info into both methods. Just copy all the text and send it to me, hopefully its enough to figure out what is going wrong...

And yeah I have my fears for the kiseki series now being in the hands of NISA. I love all the games, and I really do hope we see a PC port eventually. I could play it on my PS4 but meh, I'll always choose PC when I can. The ports of CS1 and CS2 by XSEED/Durante were god tier, I doubt that even if NISA does port them they will end up with the same quality. But obviously I'm hoping for the complete opposite. Smile

Yep, that helps narrow it down. It looks like all the values are correct, the problem is ESRGAN is not outputting an image. One case I can think of where this would happen is if its not actually finding ESRGAN. Another case is if the ESRGAN base folder is missing the folders "LR" and/or "Results" folders. The script should create these if missing (I think). You can manually create them and see if this fixes your issue, if you are actually missing them in the first place. I can think of some more info that could be helpful, so I'll probably have another version to test soon.

Both folders ("LR" and "results") actually do exist, with both folders being empty.

There is a chance that the problem may already be fixed in this one as I noticed a typo that makes me wonder how it was even working for anyone in the first place. If an image is created this time around, then that would be fantastic. If it still fails, I can think of one more thing to try.

Edit: Yes the script does create those folders if missing, so they never should be missing.

Damn I was really hoping that was it. Apologies for all the trial and errors, issues like this that happen on one machine but not another are really hard to figure out. So this time around, python/ESRGAN are running on the same thread as the GUI so it will freeze if it actually runs this time. Running it in a separate instance hides some output from the console, I can grab specific errors like out of VRAM, but not everything. At this point I am assuming two things: your instance of the script is not liking me using "Invoke-Expression" for some reason, the other would be something wrong with python/ESRGAN which hopefully this version will point out....

And ESGRAN upscaling worked! My thanks for your dedication and time. Don't worry about me going through these trials and errors. I gladly assist if I'm able to do so. In fact, I should rather apology myself for taking up your time.

Yes that console log is the most important one so far, it verifies my suspicion that the "Invoke-Expression" version of calling python/ESRGAN failed while calling it normally worked. I do not know why this is, and why it works for some people but not others, but at least it gives me a clue as to what is going wrong. It was very handy as I can do -ErrorVariable parameter, which allows me to pass ESRGAN errors from the threaded instance back to the main instance. There are other ways to accomplish this, so bleh. Glad we got it figured out though. I wouldn't suggest using this version for serious upscaling as its a mess, and SFTGAN is still broken, but I guess the code is in-tact enough to do some basic ESRGAN upscales. I'll try to get a cleaned up version out soon.

I rolled back to b3 for this since all I added was a bunch of junk. It should be functionally the same as it should have been, and SFTGAN should work now. The actual fixes were only a small modification to 3 lines. Tongue
