I would love too, if it won't be causing any copyright issues. It's basically 40 separate dumped background textures being put together into a single 320x240 texture. I tested it with several different 320x240 textures.

What was the results of the tests? Did the other 320x240 images work? I just tested a few images myself at those dimensions and they are upscaling properly with both GANs. I don't think you need to worry about copyright for a single image, but if you want to play it super safe you can send it to my email (bighead.0@gmail.com) to prevent publicly sharing it. Without seeing what is happening in real time, I can't come up with a good way to fix it. With the image I can temporarily print out better info and/or put pauses in my code at certain points and check the temp folder to see if textures or segments are being created.

If the mods have any issue with it, just remove it.

At least it has been modified and put together. The result as an end is not dumped and usable by the game at all.

But the issue actually extends to any kind of texture. Even regular hi-res texture. Here's a 64x128 rewritten hires texture as well (credits to Nerrel, with his permission to port the texture pack). They all result in the same failed Console Output.

I also made sure to sure the latest version this time: v41.0.ps1

I gave it a spin and it upscaled properly. This is just using default settings and model, I'll test other settings as well. I'll also have to test my auto-installer to see if its doing everything properly in the most recent versions. I can suggest maybe trying the "Update" step again, I think its step 3, maybe something didn't work there. You can skip the rest of them.

That's what I tried actually. Didn't work sadly. I basically left the settings untouched.

Step 3 says it's already up to date.

Ok I'll try something else. The PS console output so far isn't too useful in figuring out what went wrong where unless an error pops up. Everything else is mostly just general information that says things are working. What I find odd is that there are no error messages in your output saying something wasn't found, when a file gets lost or isn't created there is almost always error messages. ESRGAN/SFTGAN must be running since you are seeing "Job Loop Iteration", if it wasn't running that loop would end instantly.

Edit: Oh, the "something else" is I'll try to whip up a version that outputs more info to try to figure out what is getting lost.

Sure, I can test a new version tomorrow (please don't rush yourself).

Yeah, that's what struck me out the most. The console did indeed not log any errors. Wouldn't those be in red text?

Yep, those red text errors are PowerShell errors when a command fails. The most likely one to fail would be a "Move-Item", which is what I use to move textures from the temp folder (or wherever) to the output folder. Usually this fails because of something I messed up with the input path. And why I find it odd that this didn't pop up is because I think I use it to move the texture from the ESRGAN folder. Which leads me to believe it moved properly. But its not there, so... Huh

As far as the console output goes from what you linked before, the texture is being created somewhere. But, it's either getting removed too soon or being moved to somewhere the script doesn't know.

Apologies for the delay, I was hoping to have something to test today. Between last night and this morning, I got hung up helping a user on the Steam forums having issues with "ToCS Mode" options. But that is taken care of (for now with a workaround), so hopefully I'll have something soon and we can figure out the issue.

Don't worry. I am in no particular rush. I mostly lurk around on the forums most of the weeks. As I said, please don't rush yourself Smile. I am perfectly aware that development and coding takes time. Longer than one always intents for. I always hate myself for scheduling my work too quickly, especially when it turns out I was right about it taking longer than expected. Besides that, motivation is another key factor that will abandon you at times... I hate myself for that too.

Anyway, it is far more important that your support for the PC Trails of Cold Steel texture packs is in perfection condition. I can not stress how much I absolutely love the series. It has to be my favorite JRPG series of all time... And I basically joined the series around the time Trails in the Sky Second Chapter was released for PC through the GOG shop platform. Yeah... I'm late to the party, but became completely obsessed with it. Quickly afterwards I kinda grew obsessed with the Ys series as well. And Tokyo Xanadu eX+ was amazing too, since obviously, it was inspired by the first Trails of Cold Steel.

Sigh... Come on, why has Trails of Cold Steel III not yet been confirmed for a PC release already. It's coming out on PS4 this September. I really don't hope that Falcom and NISA now think that it is the time to suddenly leave the PC platform hanging in the dust, while five out of nine games have already been released for PC. Should I be afraid now that NISA handles Cold Steel III instead of XSeed? Perhaps NISA is a bit hesitant with the PC release with their port of Ys VIII being less than stellar so to speak of and as a result would prefer to target one platform at a time instead, obviously first starting with the PS4.

Anyway, I'm getting off-topic here... Sorry. Just my absolute love for the series. And it warms my heart that there are more players out there dedicating themselves to the series.

Uhh yeah... I was mostly just experimenting with ESGRAN, so no real rush. If I can be of any assistance I gladly do so.
