I'm trying to use this tool to edit and fix an already existing texture pack for my own use, but I'm running into a problem. The texture pack is using DDS internal mipmaps, but when I scan for issues, any texture that was originally 128x128 (and only those textures) appear in the Texture Tool to have missing mipmaps, when this is not the case (I verified they do, in fact, have mipmaps through GIMP-DDS). Furthermore, when Texture Tool is set to use internal mipmaps, attempting to fix these (not broken) textures actually removes all mipmaps from them!

Can you send me an example texture? I should only need 1 that is having the problem.
I think I understand what is going on. There are two types of missing mipmap issues: MipMaps Missing (x#) applies to external mipmaps (both PNG & DDS), and Internal MipMaps Missing (x#) applies to internal mipmaps (only DDS). If you are only seeing the first issue, then it is properly detecting the internal mipmaps. Displaying the first issue for internal mipmaps is an oversight when setting the mipmap type to "Internal". I'll make sure to fix this before the next version and better differentiate the message from PNG.
The internal mipmaps are definitely being created. I have GIMP-DDS and for some reason it is not seeing them, or just failing to load them as layers. But when I view them in Windows 8/10 Photo Viewer (Win7 can't view DDS) they are definitely there. Unfortunately it sounds like an issue between GIMP-DDS and the type of DDS textures created by DDS Utilities. New version for now, various stuff nobody will care about, fix for the above issue, and allow importing internal option settings from any other version of this script (as seen here) to hopefully save some from having to set their preferences over and over. http://www.mediafire.com/download/p5e1ve...S+v7.4.zip Next version will have nicer stuff. Tino fixed the bug in Ishiiruka Tool so it will possible to create textures from material map/color textures created with Ishiiruka Tool to work in regular Dolphin, and Zenju agreed to add command line support to the xBRZ ScalerTest so it will be possible to batch a whole folder. 05-21-2016, 02:08 PM
Hi Bighead. I just learned that the ScalerTest tool by Zenju now has command line support. But I do not know how to apply xBRZ to a folder full of pictures . Do you happen to know how to do that?

New version: http://www.mediafire.com/download/xdiycc...S+v8.0.zip
The xBRZ filter has been added to the option Apply Upscaling Filter to Base Textures. The path to the xBRZ ScalerTest must be set in the Internal Options, or it can be chosen when selecting the xBRZ option from the filter menu. As with all other filters using this script, it will only work on textures with the original dimensions. The script allows setting a filter scale up to 16x, but xBRZ will max out at 6x. It may or may not be known, but DDS textures created with Ishiiruka Tool seem to not work in official Dolphin. It's now possible to convert a pack that contains textures that only work in Ishiiruka (such as the 4k Zelda TP pack) to work with the official branch of Dolphin. This can be achieved by setting the new Internal Option Material Map Format to "Dolphin" and regenerating the pack using any of the script's conversion options. This option tells the script to use Ishiiruka Tool to convert any DDS color textures that have a material map to to PNG, and then uses ImageMagick to convert the color texture to the chosen format. Material maps will not be created since Dolphin does not make use of them. The latest version of Ishiiruka Tool (v0.9 beta) is required. I think by now the script covers just about every possible scenario I could ever imagine, so it's doubtful I will add any new features beyond this point. Future updates will only be for updating existing features or bug fixes. (05-21-2016, 02:08 PM)Ericthe1 Wrote: Hi Bighead. If you are trying to apply the filter to Dolphin textures, read above. If you want to apply it to a folder/sub-folders containing any other images, a batch script can easily do that with a recursive loop (for /r). I can probably whip one up real quick if you need it. Could you tell me how to use it, as well. I have never used a batch script before. Thanks Bighead. 05-22-2016, 07:49 AM
Here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/download/d74i31...h+v0.1.zip
- Copy script to the folder with your textures. - Edit with a text editor and set the path for ScalerTest, or copy the ScalerTest folder into Program Files (x86). - Run it and select the strength you want to apply from 1-6, default is 4 if nothing is entered. I copied a lot from my old batch version of CTT so it was fairly easy to make. It will also search all sub-folders and keep the hierarchy when creating files in a folder named ~Filtered_#xBRZ. |
