Why do games even have these projection issues, is there not any way to fix them or a reason why they can't/won't be fixed? I didn't realize this was still an issue with recent revisions but I haven't been using Dolphin much let alone playing the games with these issues.

Sorry for kind of deviating from the op, not sure what I could add to help the op out. :/

I remember once upon a time the DX11 backend was able to render these games fine without projection hacks. But that was a while back and I may not be remembering correctly but I could have sworn that was the case.

DX11 only renders it right because it's broken worse, surprisingly enough. Galop1n fixed that brokenness in his branch and it rendered the same as software renderer and OpenGL.

Is this fixed already? can I add the PHacks flag or has it been completely removed? The wiki page has it in green, so it should be played without issues. Gunblade NY & LA Machineguns suffers from a similar issue.

I think it has been fixed, as per this log, but on last Dolphin version I still have the issue, has the fix been already merged or not?

edit: I went back to last working version, r3746, but Sonic Colors (other games seem fine) wrongly detects my pad as a GC Controller, I have it defaulted to Cassic Pro controller though (was working fine on last version).

If you have a GCPad plugged in, it will do that. A lot of the Sonic Wii games do that, like Sonic Riders Zero Gravity

Why would I complain Dolphin detecting my GCPad as a GCPad? obviously I use another type of pad, a 360 one to be correct.

You don't understand. If Port 1 of the GameCube Menu has a controller in, Sonic games on the Wii tend to be like, "Wiimotes suck, they have a GCPad in, force them to use it," and then outright ignore Wiimote input. You need to go into Options/Configure/GameCube and make sure there are no GCPads set to be plugged in.
