So as some of you may know, build 5143, which is about 9 months old, introduced a rewrite to the Vertex Loader (blog post). This change broke the software implementation for BBox, leaving only the hardware implementations, which require OpenGL 4.3.
Unfortunately, OpenGL 4.3 is not available on OSX, in any version (even in 10.11, OpenGL 4.1 is all you get). Basically, this means that if you want to play a title that requires BBox support on OSX, you have to use build 5124. Which is fine, except that the new texture format was introduced later.
I didn't want to play Paper Mario: TTYD with crappy low-res textures, so I patched r5124 with the changes for the new texture format.

P.S.
I'll upload my changes to Github soon for anyone who wants to compile from source. I just need to make sure the commits include the original authors first. Also, I have no intention of backporting any other changes to 5124, as it makes a lot more sense to work on a renderer for Metal instead (not that I'm qualified to do that). Personally, I have no faith that Apple will ever support OGL 4.3 in any way.
