One day, when I went to go load up Dolphin, the Wii Remote didn't appear on the screen. I thought it was a glitch with Animal Crossing, so I tried to go to the Wii Menu from the game, but the cursor didn't show up there either.

After testing it in multiple other games, it became apparent that the issue was not game specific, that this is a general issue.

I tried contacting Dolphin on Twitter, but they weren't able to solve my problem.

In the Emulated Wii Remote settings, the red dot appears when moving the mouse around, and all the other buttons are being detected.

Even in the emulator, the system is picking up all the buttons, but it just doesn't want to pick up the cursor at all.

If someone could help me figure out this issue, that would be great. I've been unable to use Dolphin for a while now because of it, but I figured I might as well get it solved.

What happens when you enable Background Input? And have you tried the latest 5.0 dev build?

I've had this issue after lowering the Wiimote sensitivity settings in the system menu, going into Config > Wii then upping sensitivity to max worked for me.
Download the latest development build of Dolphin and you'll be fine.

Background Input does nothing, and neither do the newer dev builds.

I'm using vanilla Dolphin with nothing but the System Menu installed. Haven't even touched a single setting, and it doesn't work. Hell, the only thing I did was load into the System Menu, and the cursor is just flat out dead.

Problem solved!

What I did was I disabled the Emulated WiiMote on Player 1, and then enabled it on Player 2.

Once I did that, I started the emulator, the cursor for Player 2 appeared on screen.

I then shut the emulator down and changed player 1 back to the Emulated Wiimote, now it's working perfectly!
