Cursor to Wii Remote not working in-game

My Wii remote isn't detected by my pc so I want to use my mouse cursor to move around the Wii cursor instead in Animal Crossing: City Folk. However, when right-clicking and adjusting it to work with my mouse, it doesn't work in-game. The game is unplayable without the Wii cursor so I need help. I am on Dolphin 5.0-16101.
