Hi,
At the part of this chapter, right after the Mimi bossfight where you talk to the soldier and the Void is about to destroy the world, I get a crash.  I can't identify the error message, but I know one pops up, because I see it for a split second before it disappears and Dolphin stops responding.  I'm using 5.0 (attached screenshot of the About screen.)  Apparently this happened in 4.0 as well.

Specs:
ASUS ROG GL752 gaming laptop.
Intel Core i7 @ 2.6 GHz
NVidia GeForce 960M graphics card
16GB of DDR(4 or 3, I'm pretty sure 4) RAM.
I'm on Windows 10 x64, latest version as of this post.

Can anyone help?

Make sure you're using the latest GPU drivers from Nvidia and that Dolphin actually uses the nvidia GPU. Also try out the latest dev build of Dolphin.

Dolphin is definitely using the NVidia GPU as it lists it on the screen on startup, along with the other messages like "custom textures loaded" "wiimote 1 connected" etc. And my drivers are up-to-date. I will try the dev build, but before I do, do save states stay between the dev build and my build? And will it be easy for me to save the game after that sequence and then go back to the release version without having to tinker with anything?

Previous settings should xfer over to the dev build without you having to tinker with anything.  However, most likely, your save states will not work with the latest dev build.  You should save to the memory card within the game.  Memory card saves will work on all versions
Windows 11 Home x64
Intel Core i7-10700
Nvidia Rtx 2060 6GB
32.0 GB DDR4 RAM

No. Regular in-game saves carry across fine, but savestates are incompatible with most versions.

Yes (but again, only regular in-game saves, not savestates).

Damn. Alright, I guess I'm re-doing the Mimi fight. LMAO. I'll update here to say if it works or not.

Also savestates could theoretically cause this.

I don't actually use savestates to save, I only asked because I didn't want to redo the Mimi fight since there's no save point in between.

i remember hearing that you need to disable panic handlers to avoid the crash. or use 4.0.2 and just save at the next block.
