Hey everyone.

I have a pretty simple problem. Whenever the system goes into screensaver mode with Dolphin running, Dolphin freezes. (Actually, you can still do stuff in the game, but the graphics are frozen.)

I did search, and from what I understand, Dolphin should be disabling the screensaver automatically - but for some reason it's not doing that for me.

Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Running Windows 7 x64, Dolphin r7442 (always run in fullscreen mode).

1. Right click on a empty space on the desktop and click on Personalize.

2. Click on the Screen Saver link at the bottom of the window.
NOTE: Under Screen Saver is the name of the screen saver in gray used in your current theme. If the screen saver name is None, then it is turned off.

3. To Turn Off All Screen Savers

A) Under Screen saver, click on the drop down menu and select (None).

B) Decide if you wanted to turn the screen saver password protection on or off (option one at link).

C) Go to step 4.

4. Click on OK.

And done, now there is one more good thing to turn off regarding using emulators that have caused a crash for me and that's WinSAT.

What is WinSAT.exe?

WinSAT.exe (System Assessment Tool) integrated in windows runs a series of tests and then rates your computer on a scale ranging from 1 through 5. WinSAT.exe actually rates several subsets of your computer system, including processor, memory, primary hard disk, graphics, and gaming graphics.

Lets find out how to stop WinSAT.exe and prevent it from running automatically in future.

Fix:

Follow the procedure below to disable this process from running.

1. Open Control Panel >> Administrative Tools

2. Double click Task Scheduler

3. Browse to Microsoft\Windows\Maintenance, and Disable the task named "WinSAT"

4. Right click and select disable for WinSAT task in task scheduler.

Well that's it, there is probably more things to turn off but these are the most annoying ones.

I know how to turn the screensaver off (thanks though). I just figured Dolphin would disallow the screensaver to run while it is running, like everyone else has said. (Maybe I have to set it to run as admin...hm, gotta test that)

It's set to 1 AM every Sunday - I don't think it will ever run while I'm using Dolphin.

Thanks for your suggestions, though. I'm definitely going to watch out for WinSAT.

Well Dolphin crashed 1 AM on a Sunday for me once and that was one time enough.
Also I think there's a bug with WinSAT because sometimes it's not enough with just disabling it, deletion is required.
