Hello, I am new to Dolphin and I am having some problems with my games. I am pretty sure I have things set up right, I followed all the tutorials and didn't do any tinkering with the settings besides what was done in the speed-up guides that I read here. But my problem is that I can play games fine, but only once. I can load up, for example, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and it will work ok, maybe runs too fast or what ever, but it runs. Then, when I'm finished playing I close the emulator, the next time I load up the game I get an error that says "Dolphon.exe has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" Then all the windows close. I don't know what is causing it, but it happens with all my games, I play them, then once i close the emulator they will never work again. I have reinstalled Dolphon, I have downgraded to see if is a recent problem, I have updated my games, I run as Administrator, and it still happens. Sorry for the long text, any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

A lot of people seem to be having this issue with 4.0.2. I'd suggest using the latest development revision instead of the latest stable build. You can download the latest revisions (4.0-512 at the time of this writing) here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/134...56dc11cd3/

I seem to be having a similar problem. I downloaded the latest dev build but the problem persists.
Dolphin doesn't seem to recognise any games, no matter where I have them. So I drag and drop the game into Dolphin but it crashes immediately. I looked at several tutorials and I don't think I've done anything wrong. Anyone have an idea of what could be happening here? Should I try an older version? 12-10-2013, 08:28 AM
I installed the latest dev revision and I still have the same problem. Man this is frustrating. My friend uses 4.0 and says that its fine, so I'll going to that for now.
*edit* Installed 4.0 and still have the same problem. I don't think it is a problem with the emulator version, but something else. Maybe my configurations or something? Is there any was I can restore to default settings? My prefs seems to save over even if I uninstall and redownload or downgrade my version. I might have messed with something I shouldn't have. 12-10-2013, 09:05 AM
Okay, I think I fixed the problem. I changed the backend to direct 3D9 and it works perfectly. Full FPS and speed. I closed it a few times and reopened it and it seems to work. Thank you for you help, I will post back here if the problem persists.

How would I do the aforementioned fix of changing my backend to direct 3D9? I have an integrated graphics card, which apparently 3D9 functions better on, and I wish to try this solution, but don't want to go about it without a good idea of how to do so.
