For whatever reason, no matter the dolphin build or game I attempt to play, dolphin loads up and works fine on initial playing of a game. However, any time a game is opened for a second time, it immediately crashes displaying "dolphin.exe has stopped working". I have tested this with multiple games and multiple versions of dolphin as well, and every time the results are the same. Not sure if its a setting I'm missing or my PC settings. It just seems bizarre cause my PC can clearly run the games, since it runs them on first attempt just fine.
Crash on 2nd+ use?

I'm not sure why it's not working (you've tried the latest development version, right?), but you can try deleting the Shader folder in the Cache folder in Dolphin's config folder in Documents. It should make Dolphin work again after playing a game once.
This is a known bug. Follow this thread, and this issue on tracker.
Could you tell me what driver version are you running for the graphic card? Also, do you use portable Dolphin? 02-13-2016, 02:52 AM

I've tried the latest development version, but oddly, I get a different error after installing windows updates. It says "the proram can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Tested on 3 seperate versions to make sure that it wasn't an issue with the specific dev verson, and a redownload never fixed and only produced the same error. I can still start older versions I had saved previously, such as 7161, but get the game startup crash instead. Deleting the shadercache folder did fix the issue for it, however.
Did you tried (re)installing the Visual C++ redistributable for Visual Studio 2015? Since the update to VS2015 in 4.0-7538, it is now needed (Pre Windows 10 hat some problems but it got fixed somewhen on a Dolphin build, so just take the lastest one)
If it still doesn't work, run "sfc /scannow" in cmd to repair some system files if they are corrupt. 02-13-2016, 12:14 PM
I did try installing the C++ update from the top of downloads but I did indeed get an error related to corrupt files. However, not sure what the CMD mentioned is where I would have to run the scan so as to repair the corrupt files.

You can run chkdsk /f and see if it finds/fixes any errors. Just note that I'm pretty sure you have to run cmd as admin for that.

Do not stop on bug title and read the whole thing, it's the same bug (crash on 2nd play). Two more different people have reported this on forums, I'm trying to shed some light since dev. feedback is so scarce. |
