Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex Dual Core??

I'm guessing that LLE or something is the difference; the game doesn't need LLE for anything, and the extra threading of LLE can actually make it slower (in dualcore) for some situations.

I just found another weird problem. With Synchronize GPU thread active and dual core parts that didn't run full speed on single core now do. But some parts of the game that ran full speed with single core now don't, but overall it runs fairly better. Really interesting stuff. 09-19-2014, 01:40 AM
Synchronize GPU is just something that makes dualcore more like single core, so that makes sense.

But he's on an 8 core bulldozer so that's very strange. I can see this scenario happening if he were on a dual core trying to run LLE on a separate thread but he's got 8 physical cores.

I was messing with processor affinity and set 2 cores from the same module and it speeds up TWOC with dual core enabled. It also makes Kirby's Epic Yarn run better, but any other game will stop working with processor affinity set like that. 09-25-2014, 05:28 AM
Check AMD's website to see if they have a processor affinity fix that you might need to download.

I replaced my CPU driver with a Windows 8 driver. The Windows 8 driver made TWOC run faster with affinity set to 2 cores on the same module. Now the Windows 7 driver makes the game run slower regardless of what affinity is set at. I get a code 52 but my computer seems to be stable so I'll keep the W8 driver. Thanks for the input everyone. |
