CPU usage

1 simple question really:
Is it normal for the Super Mario Galaxy to run hot on my computer? My fan spins up to full speed and stays there the full time when playing the game.
What about other games? Or is it just SMG? Dolphin with SMG is the only program running while i play.
Any thing i can disable that let me play at full speed but at the same time let the CPU get a break or two? hehe i know im grasping at straws here. Rolleyes

My system spec:
Core i7 Q720M
Geforce GT 240M
4GB 1333MHz RAM
160 GB G2 Intel SSD
Windows 7 64Bit

It's because you are on a laptop. Whenever you apply a heavy load, things heat up. Laptops really can't cool themselves down.

Yes you may be right there although i think its funny that a computer in my league will struggle and get hot and loud, while Wii with a 800 MHz CPU and a crappy GPU will be all chill and quiet.

Anyone care to elaborate on that? Weird stuff

This is said so many times: The PC/laptop needs to emulate the real hardware to software and that requires a lot of power. The Wii itself... Yeah... Well, it's just Linux so it's not so heavy for the real Wii if you know what I mean ^^.

From what i have read, the dolphin can only utilize two cores right? Is there any work being done right now towards making use of 4 cores? Its a pity that 2 of them is doing nothing while the other 2 are struggling.
They are like "Cmon dudes, we are busting our ass here so that our owner can play this game". The other 2 cores are polishing their nails and shaking their head "Nah, you know we would really like to be a part of a teamwork here, but we are not allowed."
Then the other 2 cores are like "Fu** this" and boom, the reason why people sometimes get black screens and frozen Dolphin.

I really feel bad for the hard working cores. I really do Big Grin
