steimlem: Link_to_the_past explained exactly what has happened. But I still doubt dual core would be enough as dolphin needs a very fast cpu.

Well then reiterate. No need to get snippy.

Dual core cpu + HT = 4 logical cores

2 logical cores are used by dolphin. That's 50% usage. Since the threads jump around from core to core that usage will be spread out across all 4 logical cores.

Or perhaps you have HT off and single core mode on.

As far as one thread having a lower workload than the other that makes perfect sense. Unless both threads are doing the exact same thing one thread is going to bottleneck the other since it has more work to do per second. Very few applications can get all of the cores to full load at the same time. Only applications that involve multiple simultaneous iterations of the same task (video encoders for example) can do that.

Did that answer your question?
