The latest Android TV update allows applications to have channels,it would be much appreciated if Dolphin had a channel with options where you can toggle showing wii games, gamecube, wii ware or all three https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEsxo7ZwHDE
Could you add a Dolphin Channel for the latest Android Tv
|
AFAIK it is on gwick's TODO list, but I have no clue about its priority. Honestly, we lack the manpower for the android port and any help would be appreciated.

I was looking at the Android developer sdk forum for android tv,can't seem to find the code they use to turn apps into channels...it's probably built into the android source code..which would make sense since several apps, including Arc Browser got their own channel without the need to update/upgrade...the problem is that the Arc browser only shows recently played games in it's "channel",it would be great if Dolphin, retroarch, ppsspp snes9x ie the most stable emulators had their own channel,it would save the need for a frontend..dolphin scrapes better than most frontends...and ideally it would be great to have just one app running, instead of relying on arc browser as the channel for Dolphin etc..Dolphin is also relatively lightweight 07-05-2018, 11:25 AM

Its not too difficult to implement and only took the better part of a weekend to get right. And from what I can tell is if an app previously supplied data to the Recommended row(pre-Oreo), that data was instead transformed into its own channel, that's why no update was required. Another good example is the Twitch app. It hasn't been updated in two years but it gets a default channel built from the content it supplied to the previous Recommenced row which consists of featured streams. Anyways. I'd love to contribute to leanback support of Dolphin now that I've dipped my toes in with my own app. The below is google's "jump start" guide to adding the channels if anyone else is interested. https://developer.android.com/training/t...ns-channel 07-05-2018, 05:21 PM

But bad luck, our Android-UI developers just pop in randomly. But there is a good chance someone else can answer any question you may have. |
