Quote:Or 2-3 threads. As long as it's 4 or less sandy bridge will DESTROY gulftown. Dolphin for example, and all emulators for that matter. It's pretty hard to come up with a real world scenario where gulftown will win (even though it costs 4 times as much and has 6 cores). Sandy bridge still manages to win 99% of the time in all of the applications that people actually use. I'de dare say their are more applications out their with 2-3 threads that are in need of more performance than highly parallel visual applications.

nope, any i7 multithreaded processor, as long as the clocks are the same performs on par with sandy bridge.

DMI maxes at 2GB/s between the interfaced parts and cores, whilst QPI is >16GB/s based on Uncore speeds.

Now I understand this "limited" interconnect. Squall, you know that not every board uses nf200... -_-

Also, multiple lanes are useless if you're running single card. It doesn't make sense for intel to introduce sandy bridge as slower than the equivalent 4 core last generation cpu. Stop defending the 9xx.

That's his dramatic equivalent of "no".

Why do people make a thread and claims that the new SB CPU is awesome when they don't even bother posting any pictures or videos. Anyone with a bit of intelligent would know that those new SB CPUs is going to be fast, DUHHH!

I would love to get some info on how it preforms with [GC] Tales of Symphonia,
all of the [GC & Wii] Zelda Games, particularily that Hyrule Field area, in one of the games, that gets slower as the game progresses,
and the [Wii] Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
