Question
Hello!

This is my first post here, so if I'm doing something wrong please don't hesitate to let me know. So, I'm emulating Mario Party 7 in Dolphin 5.0, and since I'm having some friends over, I would like to import a save file with everything unlocked so we can play all boards and such.

The problem is that my version of Mario Party 7 is PAL, and the only CGI file for Mario Party 7 that I've found is NTSC-U. I have tried a tool called GCConverter to change the region of the saved game, but when I load the converted CGI file with the GC memcard manager and start the game, it says that:

Quote:Data 1 is corrupted and couldn't be loaded.
The Mario Party 7 save data in Slot A is corrupted. Save file 2 must be deleted.
The Mario Party 7 save data in Slot A is corrupted. Save file 3 must be deleted.

So, could anyone help me with this? Is there another way to convert the CGI file to PAL, or to edit it somehow? I've attached the original CGI file and the file generated by GCConverter in case it helps.

Thanks!

How to convert save data between different regions can be very game-dependent. Sometimes it's as easy as changing the fourth byte from E to P, but sometimes it requires deep reverse engineering of the game. I'm not sure where Mario Party 7 lies on that scale.

Is there a way to read / edit CGI files then? I've been thinking of creating a PAL save file on Dolphin, and then comparing it with the corrupted one to see if it is possible to spot the differences. But I don't know which software am I suppose to use to do it. Any ideas?

I would use any hex editor. (The hex editor I personally use on Windows is HxD, but there are other ones that work well too.)
