Controls not working at all for Wii emulation

Controls work fine on gamecube emulator but when using Wii emulator the only button that responds is the home button. Nothing else works, tried adjusting controls in many different ways, using external controller and mapping controls to that - used ds4 and circle would take me to emulation menu, right dpad would put weird blue overlay on screen. Buttons change colour to indicate theyre being pressed but dont do anything

Depserate to get this working, please help. Doesnt even work on wii system menu that is installed within the app

Try selecting the correct Wii control profile after the game is launched. For example, for games compatible with the classic controller, select classic controller in the overlay menu.
