controllers requirements

I was looking for a wii remote/wii remote plus controllers to use with dolphin. I found on big chinese e-market websites controllers considerably cheaper than authentic nintendo controllers. And considering how many units that specific seller already sold, these controllers seem to work fine. So, my question is, assuming that these generic controllers work fine with wii, does this automatically mean that they will work fine with dolphin? In other words, is there any difference in controller requirements between wii and dolphin?

No, third party wiimotes may work fine on a wii, but usually don't work in dolphin
