Device drop down menu

I see X/input controller (doesn't do anything, no response)

It should work with Xinput. Does the controller have a dinput/xinput switch on it? I know some of those 3rd party ones do. Just keep trying stuff.

Also, it should be noted that SDL input is no longer available on windows in the development versions. It just caused problems like this.

Alright, let's try this. Update to the latest DirectX - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

And update your 360 drivers - http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows

Restart after doing both of those and then try it in Dolphin. Let's see what happens.

You need to configure your controls after choosing the device. It sounds like you didn't.
