Controller settings won't change even if I change them

Hello everyone,

so the title might result a bit confusing. Let me explain.

I'm trying to configure my Xbox controller in the settings menu. The version of Dolphin is the latest one: 5.0-9211 x64.

Pad 1, standard controller, Xinput/0/gamepad, I choose the corresponding buttons, save as "profile 1".

Start the game. Nope, it won't recognise them, no matter what.

Mouse clicks work, for some reason the character is moving if I press WASD keys, even though they have not been chosen in ANY configuration, not even the default one. As a matter of fact, even the DEFAULT settings for the controller won't work.
And no matter what I do, this won't change.

What am I doing wrong? Any help?

Thank you in advance!

Hello, thank you for your reply and sorry for wasting your time.

I was trying to configure the Gamecube controller, but I was emultaing a Wii game that only uses the Wii remote. It took me a while to realise this, but now everything's working properly, thank you.
