I'm on the latest build and running Windows 10. When I switched the adapter to PC mode it showed up as GameCube Controller Adapter under Bluetooth & Other Devices. Under Controllers -> Standard Controllers I saw DInput/0/GameCube Controller Adapter. When I plugged it into port one (and the second port switching to DInput/1), I got no response in the two games I've tried.

Next, I tried downloading Zadig, install the drivers in a guide I found on the website and switch it to Switch Wii U. Now I get "Error Opening Adapter: Operation not supported or unimplemented on this platform" and it no longer sees the adapter when I switch it back to PC.

I don't even see the controller listed under the device manager to reinstall the original drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how to fix that driver issue, but I do know that you're supposed to install the driver while the adapter is in Wii U/Switch mode and you should be able to do that even when the PC mode has the wrong driver.

Thank you for the response. I got Dolphin to detect the adapter now but I still get no response in either game I try. It could be a problem with the adapter: last time I used it on my Switch I had to be careful how I placed it or it would stop working.

I get no response with my Wavebird either. The receiver you plug in does light up when I press buttons.

As a general rule: 3rd party GameCube adapters do not work well with Dolphin Emulator, the dev's haven't found out why. The ones that we know and do work correctly are the Mayflash and the original Nintendo adapters. Big chance that you're out of luck running this adapter.

I forgot I had bought a Mayflash adapter, but the first port doesn't appear to work. The second port does work on the Wii U, but while the emulator recognizes the Mayflash adapter, the games I've tried don't see a controller. It is in Wii U mode and Zadig says it has the WinUSB driver.

I am having the same error.  The adapter is recognized, but the controller doesn't function in-game.  If I run the log for errors, after successful boot, the following error sequence occurs ~10 times:

59:11:241 GCAdapter.cpp:264 N[SI]: Found GC Adapter with Vendor: 57E Product: 337 Devnum: 1

59:11:247 GCAdapter.cpp:436 E[SI]: error reading payload (size: 0, type: 00)
59:11:264 GCAdapter.cpp:400 N[SI]: GC Adapter detached

I feel your pain.  The setup has all been followed correctly, but something is wrong.  *Devs - can we not fix this issue based on these error logs?*
