njoy plugin isnt good at discovering certain controllers, specially something rigged up like a ps2 controller. Try JoyToKey, use keyboard buttons for the controller settings then use JoyToKey to translate the controller buttons into key functions. It should for example let you do this: "Press the X button on the controller, which you set in JoyToKey to be the Y key. The X button makes your computer type Y on the screen."
