Controller Not Working; Followed All the Guides

I bought a usb controller on Amazon. The exact controller is this - https://smile.amazon.com/Mekela-Classic-Controller-resembles-gamecube/dp/B07CNYFCXB/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

All of the people there that bought it stated they were able to just plug it in and play. That did not work for me, however. I searched for a solution as to why my Dolphin was telling me that it could not detect my adapter and eventually came across this - https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/how-use-official-gc-controller-adapter-wii-u/#Installation

I followed everything EXCEPT for the very last instance in which it states to check Direct Connect. There is no option for direct connect in my dolphin. I even installed the latest version thinking that my older one may just lack that feature but even the newest version doesn't have this.

I have tried many things but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help?

If you're using the latest version of Dolphin, there is no option called Direct Connect. Instead, you set the controller type dropdown to "GameCube Adapter for Wii U" to get the same result.

But like the post above mine says, your controller is not a Wii U compatible GameCube adapter, so you can't use Dolphin's native support for that. It's a PC controller that just happens to be shaped like a GameCube controller. You'll have to use the "Standard Controller" option.

I had a feeling that the controller might be the issue. Because of that I did try just using the standard controller option, but it still didn’t register. I read that I may have to reconfigure the button set-up but when I attempted to do that Dolphin didn’t recognize the controller in the USB port but rather only recognized my keyboard.

Is there a guide to using this sort of controller or would I be better off just purchasing a regular controller with an adapter for Wii?

Is the controller not listed in the device dropdown list?

No, it’s not. That’s why I was confused. Reviews on Amazon said hey didn’t have to do anything but plug it in and when that didn’t work for me I used The accompanied disc to install the software and I updated the drivers. I must be doing something wrong but can’t figure it out.

Some questions...

Are you on a Mac or PC?
Is your computer recognizing it has a controller plugged in?

Have you tried it with any other games or services like Steam?
