after upgrading from dolphin 4.0-6928 to the latest version of dolphin 4.0-7304 i can no longer use my controller

i am using a gamecube controller with a mayflash usb adaptor

i have followed the edev instructions and it hasn't fixed the problem
i have also tried running dolphin as root so its looks like its not a permissions problem
in the short term downgrading fixes this

any advice ?

Which Mayflash USB Adapter exactly? Since you are talking about evdev rules, I assume you are on Linux and are using the Mayflash clone of the Official GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U and are following these? https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/how-use-official-gc-controller-adapter-wii-u/#Linux

There's noting really in that window that would affect native gamecube support... Well, SDL was removed in that timeframe, but that would mean you set it up incorrectly and were not using native support at all!

i have looked at https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/configuring-controllers/#GameCube_Controller
and cant see what i could have done wrong but anyway

dolphin displays

SDL/0/HuiJia USB GamePad

in the dialog but when i select

evdev/0/HuiJia USB GamePad

it continues to do nothing

the mayflash adapter says pc usb
the device is according to lsusb
ID 1a34:f705 ACRUX

any advice ?

You can't just switch the devices, all of the buttons retain the original mapping to the old device. You need to reassign all of the buttons while under the new device.
