Controller menu isn't in some versions of Dolphin

Recently, I went and purchased a gamecube adapter to play on Dolphin. At first, I decided to just use Vjoy, since it could work non dolphin games, but then some conflicts rose and I ended up having to use the Dolphin native support. It works all fine and whatnot... on certain versions of dolphin. This is because some versions don't have the controller button on the top right of the window (I will provide pictures), and instead, it has Gamecube controllers and Wii Controller buttons. This is a problem, because with this layout, I can't find the option to have direct connect for gamecube adapters enabled.

For example, Dolphin Netplay versions 4.0 - 5995, 4.0 - 6144 and 4.0 - 6046 all have the controllers button, however version 4.0 - 652 does not.

Switching between x86 and x64 has had no effect as well.

One thing I have noticed is that some of the version names have "dirty" next to them, and all of those have the controllers button.

Is there something I'm missing like in the settings or something? I need to be able to use the same version as everyone else on SmashLadder (Version 4.0 - 652) and use the gamecube adapter as well.

don't use dirty versions if you don't know what you're doing, which seems likely because "netplay versions" is not a real term anymore. 4.0-652 is obsolete, i'm pretty sure they've moved to a newer revision

This is the link that Smash Ladder takes you to to set up your dolphin for netplay, which takes you to version 4.0 - 652 (Which is titled "Netplay", so you should be able to understand my slight confusion on the Netplay terminology) And please enlighten me on how dirty is more complicated as you implied, or how that has anything to do with answering my question?

dirty isn't official, and therefore has no support. we can't help you if you use those versions, and the advice for using old development versions is "use the latest". if you need support on those builds, you need to talk to the people using them at smashladder

Here's the problem though; everyone else seems to be able to use their gamecube adapter just fine with that version. It just seems to be me who has that problem. Do you know why this might be?

GC adapter support wasn't added to Dolphin in 4.0-652. It was added much later (earlier this year iirc). So that is to say, 4.0-652 is too old. Newer builds have what you're looking for, however.

You say this 4.0-652 is "dirty" and it supports the GC adapter. If that is true, it sounds like someone backported changes. You'd have to ask people who actually use this version of Dolphin, as it's a custom (and fairly niche) build.

It wasn't a 4.0 - 652 "Dirty" version, the dirty versions were other builds. But that kind of answered my question. I wasn't aware that - 652 was that old. And I think the reason that everyone else isn't having problems is because they all use mayflash adapters or Vjoy drivers. While I do not have a mayflash adapter, and Vjoy conflicts with other games I have...

Seems like I'm just in a really unfortunate situation. Unless you guys know how to stop the conflicts with Vjoy and other games.
