Controller & Memory card issues

I have been able to power up. Set everything up properly. I have loaded a few ISO's with no problem There are just a couple things I am having trouble with.

The first is the controller. I can't seem to input anything into it when I set it up. None of my game pads work (I have a gamecube-USB adapter on the way). It's not just the game pads though, even the keyboard doesn't seem to work at all. It just times out. Any idea why this is or how I could fix it?

The other thing is the memory card. I would like to create a file and load it into the memory card slot. I managed to find how you would load a memory card file into one of the slots, however I can't figure out how to create the file. Can anyone tell me how this is done?

Thanks a million guys! The emulator works GREAT for me

**Edit**
Sorry I didn't post my PC Specs Earlier

I am currently running:
OS: Window's 7 Home (64 bit)
Processor: AMD Phenom 9550 Quad Core 2.21GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4800 series
Dolphin Ver: Dolphin SVN R 4771 (64 bit)

I'm assuming you are using Dolphin 2.0 and the GCPadNew plugin.

Have you chosen your device in the device drop-down list? (top-left of the pad config dialog)
Are you hitting your inputs soon enough after clicking the buttons? (wait time is 1.5 seconds, I think)

Memory card files are automatically created when written to.

Indeed, I have been choosing them from the drop down list before selecting the inputs.

As for the memory card files, that's pretty much what I thought. The only reason why I asked was because when I loaded Resident Evil it gave me a message that memory card Data was corrupted on start up.
Oh and as for the version I got. If it helps I downloaded my file at The Emulator Zone:

http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gamecube/dolphin.html
Just a little update:

I tried to download the version you have on the website here and everything seems fine. I set everything up no problems....however when I go to configure the controller it crash's and the configure window never opens Sad

You probably need to update DirectX.

Thanks for your signature Smile

However I downloaded it and it said I had a newer or equivalent version installed.

I am using DirectX 10

Update your VC++ runtimes then.
Links are in the "Getting Started With Dolphin" thread.
