Hi there. I am a total noob with this stuff so please bear with me.

OK. I downloaded Dolphin today and have been trying to get my pad working (a 360 controller) with Super Paper Mario. But no matter what I seem to do it will not work.

Is there something obvious I am missing? Can I even use this pad to play games on Dolphin?

Same Q for Mario Galaxy. Will I be able to play it with this controller?

I've tried using the search and I have spent hours now trying to find info but can't find anything relevant. I'm probably missing something really rather silly but I'm buggered if I can find it.

Thanks !

Andy

I had a look yes. My sticks work in it (when I wiggle them etc) but I cannot get any response from the controller once the game is loaded.

Was wondering if any one has played Galaxy in Dolphin with a 360 controller?

i don't think it's currently possible to use a controller as a wiimote (only the keyboard/mouse and wiimote Smile)

OK, so basically what you're saying is that without a Wiimote and bluetooth dongle this emulator doesn't work? Well, in a full playable state?

Think about this; We're emulating a Wii, which uses a Wiimote for control over the games. The Wiimote is one of the largest selling points of the Wii, and allows for full motion sensitivity. Games are programmed to use this sensitivity. Therefore, without a way to provide full X/Y/Z motion information to a game, you'll be unable to play the game exactly the way it was designed.

The emulator does what it's designed to do: Emulate a Wii. The games, on the other hand, are being used directly off the game discs or ISOs of said discs.

We can't modify games to work with only dual-analog support when they're programmed for motion control. It's outside the scope of this project. We also can't prerecord every possible motion and map them to keys; You'd need like 12 keyboards for all the possibilities Smile
