Controller acting as mouse

So I connected a PS3 controller (DS3 Sixaxis), and used SCP Toolkit to make it work. All good. I set the controls and tried some Smash Melee. Except that when I move the Right stick (C-stick) it moves the mouse, and it's annoying and distracting. I tried going to mouse settings and seeing if it registered as a mouse, so I could disable it. It wasn't there.
So how can I make it so the controller doesn't act as a mouse?
Thanks.

I'm going to make a guess and it might just fix it. Turn off steam, then try it again. Please report back what happens!

Hey, it worked! Shutting Steam down did it! I hope other users might see this post... there was nothing elsewhere!
