I am sure this has been posted before but not sure how to find it.  I searched threads with Left Control Stick problems but nothing came up.  I have been using the emulator for a while now.  The other day my moving left just didn't work.  I could move right, forward and backwards but not to the left.  I figured it was my controller so I got a new one.  But it is still happening.  I uninstalled dolphin and reinstalled it and it is still happening.  I have a false??? game cube controller.

When I go to configure the controller, under control stick, it accepts up, down, and right.  When I click on left and then push the control stick left, the red dot in the calibration screen moves to the left; it does not stay in the center.  The code code for up is Axix Y-  for down it is Axis Y+ for right it is Axis X+ and for left it is Full Axis X- and then the red dot moves to the left.  Can someone explain to me how to fix this?  In layman's terms LOL.

Thank you!!!! Big Grin

Left should not be mapped to "Full Axis X-". Re-map it. The mapping should match the pattern of the other directions.
Show a screenshot of your controller config in Dolphin if you need more help.

Hi Billiard26, and thank you for responding.  I am sorry I do not know what you mean by re-map it.  I have removed the Full Axis X- and hit the controller again to the left and it comes back to Full Axis X-.  I have two screen shots to show you.  As you can see, I have increased the dead zone and can now play the game.  However, the character does not run straight; it is all over the place and it makes it very difficult to do stages Sad.

THank you for any help you can give me.

I wanted to include both screen shots.  Here is another one.

In this order:
1. Keep your stick centered.
2. Click the button next to "Left".
3. Push your stick to the left.
4. Allow your stick to return to center.
5. Do nothing for half of a second.

The button should now say: "Axis X-".

Calibrate both of your sticks using the "Calibrate" buttons.

FYI, your D-pad's "Right" mapping is also nonsensical.

Do it more carefully until it works or manually select the proper input from the right-click menu.

I have tried it about 80 million times.  How do I manually select the proper input from the right-click menu?   Sometimes it doesn't even register anything.   And calibrating it pointless because when I go to calibrate the red dot is in the middle between the left and center.   So annoying.  I have a PS3 controller but the emulator will not register any of the buttons.

Do it even more carefully.

Or do it manually:
You've already been in the right-click menu (as seen in your first screenshot).
Remove "Full " from the expression so it just says `Axis X-` and click "Apply".

Calibrating the stick is not pointless. But you must have it mapped first.
