The best cpu for dolphin is going to be a 2x core with the highest clock speed. more then 2x cores cause more heat and are less OCable. So my guess is like a E8600 or a i7 with high clock speeds. I have a E8500 and it runs stuff great.
CPU: E8500 Not OC
Memory 8 Gigs DDR2-800Mhz
GPU: NVidia GeForce 8800GT 256
OS: Windows 7 64bit
Monitor: LCD TV 42' 720P

Oh, that's what I like to hear! What games can you run full speed?

Dolphin uses mostly CPU.. But does video card matter at all? Will having a 8500 be significantly less than using a 8500?

anything over 6000 series nvidia will run dolphin fine as long as you dont use high gfx settings
