Been trying to run my backups (cheats and no cheats) but after I stop emulation or close Dolphin entirely my computer slows down to a crawl. The only solution to this is to restart my laptop. This is a new and fairly high end laptop so I don't know why this is happening. The games I have tried are Mario Kart Double Dash, Smash Bros Melee, and Sonic Riders.
Computer Becomes Unresponsive After Dolphin is Closed

Your profile says you're using Dolphin 5.0 stable. Does the same issue happen with the latest dev build of Dolphin?
Have you checked to make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your computer? Your profile says Intel HD 630, and the latest version of their drivers is 15.60.2.4901 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa...duct=98909 02-03-2018, 09:37 AM
Yeah no difference with using the dev builds of Dolphin. Checking my drivers, will get back to you.
EDIT: Updated some drivers, my computer is a tiny more responsive but still isn't good at all. Not sure if this is important but I have two graphics cards NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Intel® HD Graphics 630 02-03-2018, 10:08 AM
Force Dolphin to use the GTX 1050. Make a high performance profile for it inside the NVidia Control Panel.
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.
Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

This suggestion above also helped with responsiveness. Apparently as long as I am emulating something, the computer remains somewhat responsive. (But since its emulating a game it isn't at its normal speed obviously.) Closing Dolphin still makes it unresponsive now, just less.

Maybe let taskmanager be open, sort by cpu usage and see what is hogging resources after closing dolphin.

Forgot to tell you, to also enable Windows' High Performance mode.

Yeah I have High Performance mode enabled. The only thing task manager shows the most usage is Cortona (I have it disabled now but still no difference. Wasn't using hardly any resources either.)
