Hi guys,

This week I received my Scorpion Vii Wii gun. Very happy with it but I'm having some accuracy issues. I don't think its from the pistol itself. I think its a Wii bar or a BT communication issue or even the PC running the emulator/game.

Here is why, on the menus of games like Ghost Squad or Ghost Recon the gun works fine no lag at all. But inside the game I notice some lag on it. What do I mean is the scope takes sometime to move to the new position. I have to make additional tests with a normal wiimote since I didn't play with it for quite some time. And when I did I played mostly the Airplane assault mission which seems a bit lighter when compared with the other 2.

What do you guys think is it a PC running the emulator problem, gun problem or Wii sensor bar?

I started suspecting of the wii bar because I notice sometimes gaps when moving the wiimote or the gun like there is a sensoring gap or something. The sensor bar is 3rd party and only has 3 LEDs on wach side.

If you think its the bar can you recommend some cheap but very accurate sensor bars.

Thanks

You mean an official Wiimote yes I tried it I think the result was similar although I didn't have these games at the time. But I have a memorex wiimote and the behavior is the same and if I recall correctly wasn't much different with an original wiimote probably even better because the nintendo wiimote I had from a friend didn't have motion plus and the memorex one has.

Not any of them
What kind of Bluetooth dongle do you have ? Is it first-class type (class 1) ? If you use a cheap dongle with poor connection , you will have lag issues
Class 1 dongle : Can connect 3-4 wiimotes at once or 1-2 wiimotes without lag (3 or 4 wiimotes might cause minimal lag )
Class 2 dongle : Can connect 1-2 wiimotes at once (may cause lag)
Class 3 : only connect 1 wiimote

Don't know the class its an old Conceptronis dongle. Normal pen size even has an external antenna. I think its 100Mbit dongle.

Similar to this one but a bit different I'm guessing older then this one

It looks like a first-class dongle . Aside from BT connection , I can't think of anything that would cause problem

The dongle is connected to the monitor hub on the back. You think it may make any difference? Power may not be sufficient or communication lag on the hub? As I said only when running the actual game I notice it more on the menus its ok. Its normal because its when more data is transferred maybe.

I can also check other games less heavy to see the result.

Ok on Gunslingers seems to be better also on Gunblade although I detect some delay from where the sight is until the new position of the aim. Doesn't move in real time. In Gunslingers I would say its normal since I cannot get a fixed FPS normal should 60FPS and it drops to 30 in average you can clearly see the game runs in slow motion. I tried messing with the setting on Dolphin but no improvement. I can almost bet its related to CPU issues. On Ghostsquad I don't detect FPS drop (only on some exceptions) but I guess having to shoot outside the screen to reload causes problems I guess.

Once again on both games sight on menu almost doesn't have any lag.

And no didn't try on the Wii because I don't have one.
