I'm using the computer on my profile. I'm playing super mario galaxy, and I'm using a developer version because the file I'm using for galaxy won't work on stable versions for some reason. While playing I experience a lot of audio lag and the game itself lags sometimes. I've tried changing audio stretching, max speed, and clock override, but it doesn't change much. Is there any other settings I'm missing, or is my computer just not good enough? Sorry if this is a noob question, I'm not very good with computers.
Common fixed for choppy audio and lag aren't working

Hmm, that is a low end part, but it is an ice lake processor capable of boosting to 3.4ghz, so it should be fine? Let's start with this - please post screenshots of your graphics settings here.
Intel Xeon w7-3465X OC | Asus Pro WS W790-E Sage SE | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 FE | 8x16GiB G-Skill Zeta R5 DDR5-6000 | Windows 11 23H2 | (details)

Well you could try use aysnc ubershader with compile before start checked. You could run it on 1x internal resolution and keep other settings at default. It possible since you cpu is low power maybe it can't keep the clock speed(either thermal or power reasons) high enough to run galaxy smooth. You could try to use the high performance profile in windows to see if that helps though. Have you try other gamecube\ wii games. New super mario is relatively light compared to galaxy for example.

Thanks so much for the help. Checking the "compile before start" made it run perfectly. Finally I can play this game without worrying about the lag. |
